Looking for teacher lesson plan resources for the periodic table of elements? This periodic table wordangle puzzle has a list of 20 unique periodic elements hidden in a word search grid.

Solve the puzzle:
1. REVIEW the list of words to engage the brain
2 word paths TRAVEL: vertically, horizontally, forwards, backwards, but not diagonally
3. some word paths DO cross; most word paths include one right hand turn
4. TRACE, or circle, the letter paths
5. TRACK progress by checking off words as they are located in the grid

Lesson plan activities can include:
1. give blank word search grids to students to create their own word search puzzles; exchange with peers to solve [see below for link to blank word searches]
2. put the list of elements in reverse atomic weight order
3. encourage students to spell academic vocabulary using periodic table symbols [e.g. spell the word: C A R B O N using the elements: Carbon, Argon, Boron, Oxygen and Nitrogen; or could C A R B O N be spelled using different symbols?]
4. use list of words as ideas for more research ideas (e.g. how were some of the elements named? (Einsteinium, for example))
5. put list of elements in alphabetical order BY SYMBOL
